Hello, My name is TWAGIRAMUNGU Jackson, and I am third year Law student at the University of Rwanda.First of all, it is a great pleasure to see His Excellency the President of the Republic of Rwanda engaging with young people through Youth #MeetThePresident. Although I am not physically present at BK Arena, I am following this important event online.I would therefore like to kindly ask if it is possible, to raise the following question on my behalf.Your Excellency, Mr. President,First, I would like to sincerely thank you and the Government of Rwanda for the remarkable achievements in improving access to higher education and supporting university students, particularly through the provision of living allowances, which have helped many students meet their basic needs and pursue their studies under better living conditions. However, considering the continuous increase in the cost of living, especially the rising prices of food, accommodation, transportation, and other basic necessities, the current living allowance is becoming insufficient to meet students’ daily needs. My question is: Your Excellency, does the Government of Rwanda have any plans to review and increase the living allowance provided to university students to reflect the current cost of living and improve their welfare, so that they can focus more effectively on their academic studies? Thank you 🙏
